Disparities in Welfare: The Spatial and Temporal Dynamics across Districts of Pakistan

The concept of welfare has multidimensional perspectives in economic literature There is no consensus on the definition among experts as they have paradoxical and divergent views about alternatives economy. Welfare any particular region can be extracted from average level per capita income, income distribution, poverty, human development region. present study aims to interregional comparisons, special attention been paid comparing different regions Pakistan. measures acquired are district-wise Gini coefficient, Human index. Moreover, explore further index based coefficient calculated for each district across four provinces. data employed Pakistan Social Living Standard Measurements (PSLM) 2005-06 2013-14 measure districts well overall findings elucidate that inequality exists terms living conditions maintain quality life. deprivation more majority Balochistan two-thirds its total districts’ rank deteriorated 2014-15 followed by KP Sindh where one-half declined.
